I just wanted to reach out and see what others experiences were with the NSBN. Anyone out there in a monitoring program? I am almost done with my program and am getting nervous about going before pEg. Anyone have any experiences they can share.?

Yes. Have a detailed recovery plan in writing with you and start the meeting with it. Keep the meeting focused on your recovery because some of the questions will drift. Well wishes.

How is your case going? Did you meet with the board? I too am under monitoring with the NSBN!

A lot has happened. With only a few months to go I tested positive for alcohol. Had 2 beers in a whim and didn't think about the consequences. I've been so stressed out! All this wasted time. I did get a lawyer to represent me but it doesn't look to good.

What is the pEg? Also, I am looking into being monitored but have not yet been ordered. I haven't had a hearing. Does anyone been able to work for a Federal facility while being monitored such as the VA? If so, has anyone had an agreement to use the monitoring state's license while working at a Federal facility in a different state?

As I understand it - one is generally not allowed to work outside the state they are being monitored in unless they are being monitored by both states. (I can't even imagine what a nightmare that would be.) As for working in a federally funded facility such as the VA you would have to ask your monitoring board as they set the stipulations of your contract. Depending on what you did to get yourself monitored will play a key role. If you committed a crime and were arrested you may be on the OIG Exclusion List which will prevent you from working for any facility that accepts Medicare or Medicaid. Not sure about the VA though.

Best of luck to you
