Seeking a Mentor for BSN Project

Updated Sep 19, 2007 at 12:29 AM by medicrnohio

Hello to all of the staff development nurses! I am a RN currently working on my BSN. I am seeking a mentor for my professional socialization project. The project that I am going to be working on is creating a formal, structured orientation program for nurses new to our facility. I am also planning to create an orientation handbook and orientation check off form. I am currently working in an LTAC (long term acute care) hospital. Unfortunately we do not have an educator or staff development person on staff and no one here has the required experience to be my mentor. I would be willing to work with my mentor via email or phone unless they happen to be close enough that we could meet a few times. The requirements for the mentor are that they have a minimum of a BSN and 3 to 5 years of experience in the area related to the project. I chose to ask on the staff development board because I believe this board has nurses who most closely match the experience requirement. If you, or anyone you know, might be willing to help me with this project I would greatly appreciate it. You can PM me or email me through allnurses. Thank you very much for your time and consideration!

In my point of view, a mentor should be someone that you can seek for advice if having any doubts of BSN project such as how to write an essays of a research on contemporary issues in nursing. I really wonder if I can learn how to do within 1 and half months. Anyone who is an expert in research, pleas pm me. I really need to learn how to do statitics otherwise I will not be able to pass up my assignment.
