How to send American proof of nursing license to Australia?

Hi!

I'm a U.S-trained nurse trying to register as a nurse in Australia. So, the registration form said the Board of Nursing that I'm registered should send out the proof of license to AHPRA directly.

I just called Texas BON and they said they don't send out any license like that, unless there's a form provided by AHPRA that they request my license. It seems like AHPRA doesn't have any forms like that on their website. (or I couldn't find it...)

The person at Texas BON told me to just print out the form onlin, since they only do online verification anyway these days, or make them verify it online.

So.. my question is..

1. Can I just print out the copy from Texas BON website and send that copy?

2. Can I send out the copy that I received for my initial registration, since I still have the copy?

3. Is there a request form from AHPRA, is it just me who can't find that form?

I kinda had the same problem before. I am not US-trained but I worked in Kansas for almost 3 years before applying to AHPRA. Kansas BON doesn't have a form for this either, coz like Texas, they only do online verification. I contacted KSBN directly and told them my situation and the need to have an actual paper license verification to be sent directly to AHPRA. So what they did is they had me write a formal letter addressed to a certain officer in the Board requesting to have my registration information forwarded to AHPRA. I think I also sent a request to their legal department or something coz they needed to dig up some more information regarding my registration. What they actually sent to AHPRA was basically all the information you can see on the online licensure verification system. They just printed that and sent to AHPRA. In this way, it still came directly from the BON (coz AHPRA needs it directly from the source).

Oh ok... Sounds like a lot of work! I actually emailed AHPRA and told them about my situation. Seriously, it'll be wayyy more accurate for AHPRA to check my status online anyway.. This stupid admnistrative crap makes me so mad.. Anyway, hopefully they get back to me pretty soon. Also, I was thinking.. maybe I should just print it out and mail it to them separately, how they're gonna know anyway? haha

Hey..i am also applying to ahpra for certification now...i called tx bon and they told me send a written application requesting them to send my license verification to ahpra and the ahpra address in australia to mail to. Sent them $25 cheque as requested. Dont forget to mention your tx rn license no. I also sent ahpra cerified copies of my paper tx rn license and my nclex passing paper from bon..

Hope tht helps...i think the person u talked to at tx bon did not know abt this process..

Hi guys i have the same problem, i have not seen any forms on APHRA's website for them to verify my license in 4 states that i am registered. (2 expired; Texas and Northern Marianas and 2 active; Colorado and American Samoa). So this means that i have to asked and pay them to send a paper verification whatsoever?. Hkimi is right about verifying this via nursys.com which is more accurate.
