Seton Hall University distance program?

Specialties NP

Published

Hello,

I'd like to find out if this school has a good reputation. I know it is a private Catholic school, and I just discovered that they offer a distance WHNP program-which I am thrilled about. Is this a well-recognized NP program? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Also, this may be a dumb question, but can a WHNP practice as a FNP, or vice versa? I understand that women's health is just a more specialized and concentrated field, but I'm curious because I honestly cannot make up my mind which program I want to do.

Thanks

hello, jollyjenny,

i don't have info about seton. others may.

as for practicing as fnp with whnp education only, the answer is, no. i was the latter first and secured the fnp later because the career choice was too narrow (one of several reasons for the added track).

if you are wanting to see all ages, i suggest the fnp.

Seton Hall has a great reputation and the name is recognized outside the state of NJ. If WHNP is your passion, then it can't hurt to apply! I think our lives are far too short to miss out on those opportunities that interest us. If you find that WHNP is too limiting after graduation, you can always earn a FNP certificate (which allows you to sit for the boards) online which won't interfere with your work schedule.

Good luck!!
