Hello everyone,
I have been reading posts on this site for a few years now and this is my first official post! I am currently a RN pursuing my BSN (and then moving on for FNP). I am taking a class on EBP (evidence-based practice) and nursing research. I need to complete some interviews for a paper that I have to complete by Thursday night. Unfortunately, my NP cancelled on me at the last minute. Would any NPs here be interested in answering about 6 questions about EBP/nursing research? Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Why don't you just post them?
Good idea zenman. Thank you. Here are the questions. If you decide to reply, can you please respond with your first initial and last name so that I may cite you?
* What role do you believe evidence-based practice plays in improving the care nurses provide to patients?
* What role do you believe nursing research plays in improving the care nurses provide to patients?
* How have you integrated either EBP and/or nursing research into your practice? Explain and provide details.
* What obstacles have you faced when trying to implement EBP in your own practice?
* How do you stay on top of the most current evidence-based practices?
* What area of nursing do you feel deserves more research and why?
Thank you in advance!
Do you need our names, addresses, etc?

Nurses should be the ones studying their own interventions.* How have you integrated either EBP and/or nursing research into your practice? Explain and provide details.Yes, but I tend to wait before prescribing new meds till I see how many people die in actual clinical practice. I recently added some H & P questions that dealt with environmental medicine.* What obstacles have you faced when trying to implement EBP in your own practice? Not a lot since I practice independently, but keep in mind insurance companies dictate, for example, what you can prescribe because a newer drug may cost so much that it keeps their CEO from earning millions of dollars a year.* How do you stay on top of the most current evidence-based practices?Reading journals, forums, and reports* What area of nursing do you feel deserves more research and why?I'm in psych so I guess I'd say my area.R. Zenman,
I just need first initials and last names.
Thanks again,
Good to know that you seek out the results of the clinical trials before prescribing new drugs. Also, very interesting about the insurance companies and the drugs. I did not know that. Thanks so much for helping me out with this! You rock!
