Hi all! I'm curious to see for all my FNP's or ACNP's or AGNP's - what is your speciality if you specialize? And where did you obtain your post-MSN certifications for those specialities? If you don't specialize, what type of setting are you working in now?

i just want to see all the potential options there are for specializing. I'd love any feedback about your programs and speciality or care settings if you'd like to share :yes:

Specializes in Urology NP.

I'm an FNP and work in urology. I have an option to sit for Certified Urologic Nurse Practitioner exam after a year of experience. I chose FNP because i felt it offered me the greatest flexibility in being able to work with any age group and in most areas.

I'm an adult and peds CNS and yes I'm an idiot and did two post MSN certificates....

im in nephrology. Large IL private practice

Is your question specific for a board certification in a specialty during a formal program rather than working in a specific area? I'm an Adult NP through ANCC since 2005 and I just completed an online Family NP Post Masters Certificate through UMASS. I will sit for the ANCC FNP boards in May. But I would also love to get a specialty in Women's Health issues but have not found anything like that.

I'm an a FNP and my specialty is asthma, allergy, and immunology. I have a background in immunology (prior to nursing school), but most of my training has been on the job. There is no exam or certification program for my specialty. I worked for several years in primary care before switching over to this specialty.

It would be nice if we were able to specialize through an actual program with a board exam. Physicians and PAs have options to specialize and get boarded. Something like a fellowship for NPs. I would love to hear what others think.

I am a new graduate from a FNP program 12/2013. I recently started working in a OB/GYN office treating GYN patients for annual well exams and problem visits.
