Hello NP's

I am an RN whose looking to become an FNP through an accelerated course (full-time). The sooner the better, right. Does anyone know of any program that will pay all or some of my NP tuition? I know that hospitals have tuition reimbursement programs however I detest working in hospitals as a staff RN. I would not mind working in a hospital on an NP level, though. Do you all know of programs for ex: where I can go to school full time for free, and after graduation, work for a particular company until I repay the funds. Kind of like an being an indentured servant. I live in the new york city area. Also, do y'all know of good schools in the new york city area that offer accelerated FNP programs?

I would appreciate your thoughts. And of course the whole truth, no politically correct statements, please.

Hello, daholetruth,:balloons:

Welcome to Allnurses.com:)

I am not aware of any programs that fully reimburse your expenses. Have you checked at http://www.allnursingschools.com/

There are a few programs listed in NY on the above site. I do not know if they meet your expectations.

Also, try these:

Good luck!!

When I was in my CNS grad program, many of the NP students at my school had contracts/scholarships with the US Public Health Service, the VA, or the Indian Health Service. They would pay all your school expenses (and, in some cases, a monthly stipend for living expenses) in return for your commitment to work for them for a specified amount of time after you graduated. Although the students did have some choice/flexibility about where they went to do their service after they graduated, their choices were limited by the particular agency's needs.

I would have JUMPED at the chance to get a deal like that, but none of those agencies funded my specialty (child psych).
