how hard is to get in to Emory university RN-MSN acute care NP program with one year RN experiance?

Specializes in CTICU.

I don't know, but I imagine it would depend on lots of things:

- GPA

- letters of recommendation

- personal statement etc

There is rarely one deciding factor.

The ACNPs here said that most students have 1-2 years critical care experience before applying. I would call the PD if you have any questions.

Hi,

I have recently been accepted into the Adult NP program at Emory. I will start part-time this fall.

I was really impressed by the faculty at Emory. I am under the impression that the admission committee considers many factors when evaluating potential students. If you really want to pursue the profession and you can demonstrate strong nursing skills and potential, I do not think that having only a year of nursing experience would prevent your otherwise qualified candidacy. In addition to the application there is an interview which is also an important consideration

Emory's nursing school is called the "Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing." They have a great website. I encourage you to look at it. You might also consider attending one of the nursing school's Graduate Information Sessions where you will get a chance to talk with the nursing faculty in your specialty area. The sessions are free so you have nothing to loose by attending. You might even fall in love with the school as I did.
