After you graduate with your FNP, can you get more certifications? This is probably a dumb question lol but I'm just wondering (I want to go in to infectious diseases/ epidemiology).

Specializes in ICU, Emergency Department.

I know of post-master's programs for Acute Care cert, Pediatric cert, etc. I'm sure there are other certs you can get as well.

There are definitely specialty certifications that you can get at the APRN level. I am now aware of any specific to ID and could not find any on a google search. Did find the CBIC certification but that is more infection control.

As far as ID goes there is a travel medicine cert throughout the international society of travel medicine (ISTM) pretty tough cert. i

Go to the ANCC website. They provide a lot of certifications for RNs. Additionally, they list all of the certifications you can get as a NP. Such as Emergency Nurse Practitioner. Each certification has requirements such as hours practiced in the field you are seeking certification in.
