ANCC continuine education requirements

I have been a np for about 9 months. I am trying to get ceu's organized and sorted out. I thought I read somewhere that there is a pharmacology contact hour requirement, but I don't see anything about it on the website. Am I dreaming this?! I also can not find any mention on the state requirements re: pharmacology (Ohio).

All I know is that ANCC requires submission of 2 out of 5 Professional Development Requirements to meet certification renewal. These are: 1. CE hours, 2. Academic Credits, 3. Presentations, 4. Publication or Research, 5. Preceptorship.

The CE hour requirement does not mention specifics about meeting pharmacology credits:

"Complete 75 contact hours of continuing nursing education (or 150 continuing nursing education hours if you are doubling this category.) At least 50% of the hours must be from an educational program/organization accredited by American Nurses Credentialing Center or on the accepted list of organizations below. At least 51% of your continuing education hours must be related to your certification specialty". (Source: ANCC website)

I just renewed my ACNP-BC from ANCC in April this year. I submitted more than 150 contact hours of CE's and have also precepted ACNP students for 2 semesters.

Sorry, I don't know anything about Ohio's requirements for Pharmacology credits. From Michigan here, no requirements for Pharmacology CE's here.

FYI: I found my answer: it was buried in Ohio law website. Can't state boards make the websites user friendly?!!!

Anyhow, for Ohio requirements I will need 6 hrs of pharm (prorated) otherwise it is 12 hours every 2 years.

I am from Georgia and obviously not.... It would be nice if the BONs were nurse friendly :bugeyes:
