What is the inside skinny on NC and adn - vs - BSN

The age old debate.... ADN vs BSN. I have worked several different states and several different areas. I have noticed a difference in region and state when it comes down to preference for ADN vs BSN. In NC can anyone say what they think there is more of; ADN's or BSN's? In general do people see a pay difference there? For example CA likes BSN's. New England prefers BSN but will take both. Florida can say what they want but it seems there is more ADNs. Of course this is just in MY experience. Does anyone in NC have an inside scoop/opinion??

My hospital has more ADNs and there doesn't really seem to be any real recognition of levels until you talk about management. I have heard people ICUs talk about it informally, but I know the PICU nurses that I work with have ADNs. So go figure. =)

There is no outright hiring difference at our hospital, but there may be some behind the scenes raise preference that I'm not aware of... if so, I've never heard about it (nor has my husband who is at the same hospital.)

It is nothing like California, I can promise you that. I'm not saying that's a good thing, I'm just saying! =) It may be different at University hospitals. I work at a private, not for profit teaching hospital that used to be the county hospital.
