I was just looking at the Watts webpage, and it said that it has the Academic aptitude*(verbal, math) and then reading comprehension.So is there NO physical science, spelling etc. parts of the test? I think Im studying the wrong dang material

It's okay, at least you found out now so you didnt study everything else until december!

After you submit everything, it's about 3 weeks until you find out if you passed the test. Then you submit the essay and it's about 3-4 weeks when you find out if you get accepted.

i'm from pomona-ish area outside of los angeles. what about you?

Im from San Diego! Love my hometown, but its hard to get ahead out here and even harder to get into Nursding school. My cousin is from SD and lives in raliegh. Hes tell me I would love it there. I lived in NAshville for about 8 months, so Im kinda used to the weather changes, even thought I have no Idea how to drive in the rain. Theres just a lot more opportunity out there for school, Its amazing what people will spend out here for even a lvn license. Im gonna start studying , hopefully Ill do well. Quick question, They dont base your whole acceptance on your score right? Do you just have to meet the minimum Requirements of 50 percentile to get an app? Thanks so much!!!!

Hi, Ive been reading post and getting replys regarding Watts entrance exam...Im getting 2 different stories about wether you should answer ALL the questions wether you know them or not, or to skip them and try to be accurate, leaving the ones you dont know blank. Im not sure how the test exactly is graded, what I should do If im stuck on a problem. I heard that time is critical. Any advice or tips on what to exactly study for. I heard that the math is basic add, sub, dec, and fractions. Anybody have a certain study strategy that worked? Im flying for CA to Nc so Im putting the pressure on myself to Pass

I would like to know what specific classes are required for the program. I am sure you have graduated already if not preparing to. If you can help me out by sending me a list of the pre-req courses that are mandontory for the program I'd appriciate it greatly. I will be transfering credits b/c I am already enrolled in a local community college, and have been for the last two years. I would like to make sure that the majority of these classes that I have already taken will be accepted. I do have to attend an Info session on the 13th of Sept.The class names are listed on the website but the specific class # is'nt. Thanks In Advance!

Can anyone tell me what courses that are mandantory for the program at Watts. The actual courses that are taken at My Olive? Help:eek: I'm Clueless:confused: I've taken some courses at a local community college and i'm ready to start considering a Nursing School:nurse:. They have the classes listed but noe the class #'s.

You will be accepted to the school and then you are required to do a semester of prereqs that are taught two nights a week at mount olive before your start your nursing courses. I think it's 18 credit hours, if you have already taken one or all of the prereqs and get credit for it then you will still be required to take 18 more credit hours with mount olive, most people did online classes for this. You would be better off applying to the school and seeing if you get in before taking the classes, otherwise you will end up taking useless credit hours and spending more money if you get into Watts.

Sorry, I meant to say the prereqs are taught at WATTS two nights a week, not at Mount Olive itself!

Can u give me the run down step by step process on how to apply the entrance test, then what's nxt?

If you have classes already then you take 18 credit hours in ANYtype of class you want. That is actually a plus if your working towards your BSN so I wouldn't suggest dropping out of any class your in. For example if you had A & P, Dev. Psych, English, etc. and you apply to this school and you have all your pre reqs done that they require. You will still have to take 18 credit hours at Mt. Olive College so now you can take ANY class they offer online, or at the Mt Olive RTP campus so lets say you KNOW you want a BSN/MSN/DNP. Since with just a diploma you are basically limited in what you want to do and can do (no advanced practice nurse with just a diploma everyone knows that).

You can look at RN-BSN programs around your area and start the pre reqs for those and take those classes at MT. Olive since your required to take 18 credits which you can at that point choose ANY class (statistics, micro, chemistry, spanish) whatever you may be interested in. Watts does not require Micro, Statistics, Chemistry and other pre req courses that MOST BSN and MSN programs REQUIRE. So this could be one of the courses you take so unlike the poster above stated it is NOT a waste to have already finished your prereqs somewhere else and then apply to Watts and take any class of your choosing. I don't see it as useless but if all you want is just a diploma and do not want to advance AT ALL in your career then yes it may be useless but if you want to advance and do more with your RN it is not useless to get pre reqs done for your higher degree with those 18 credit hours.

@ Rooster'sRN the Mount Olive prereq courses are... Psy 100, Psy 330, Eng 111, Mth 121, Soc 210, Bio 253, His 222 and Rel 200.... even if you've taken those courses already you are still required to take 18 credit hours with Mount Olive before you can begin the nursing program...
