i am relocating to the raleigh/durham area and wanted to know what the pay is there. i live in charleston and in the hospitals, if you are lucky enough to get in, its around $13-$14 to start. i currently in a ltc and negotiated a starting pay of $20/hr even though im a new grad. i finish rn school in december, but im trying to find a backup job in case it takes longer than anticipated to find a new grad internship in jan or feb. and if someone can tell me of good ltcs in the area, it would be greatly appreciated.

I worked in Raleigh and Durham, NC in 2006. I worked per diem for Nursefinders and Maxim Healthcare. My assignments were mostly LTC, some flu shot clinics, MR/DD facilities and juvenile correctional health. The pay was $20-$24/hr. I have considered going back there in the future. The cost of living is pretty low and I was pleasantly surprised at the beauty and culture of the area.
