Job market in Raleigh-Durham and Charlotte?

U.S.A. North Carolina

Published

We are considering a move to either Raleigh-Durham or Charlotte. I'm curious what the job market is like in these areas. I have some hands on and also some sales/case management skills.

I am enrolled in a bsn/msn program, but don't hold either yet.

hank so much in advance!

market in the raleigh area is strong especially if you are willing to look at satellite hosp

Thank you! Any rough estimates of salaries for nurses wih a few years' experience?

For what it's worth, I also have non clinical experience (more in the case management and sales arena); I might be looking for a job that utilizes those skills rather than a floor nursing position, but I could do either.

$$ in R-D low $20s/hr

It is one of the number one areas to live in the US. I was thinking about moving there before I picked Milwaukee. Great job market, cost of living.

Yes, I have heard nothing but good things about the area! Low 20s is not what I was hoping for in salary, unfortunately, but I would have to do the math on cost of living vs salary to see how it really compares to here.

Low 20s is base, there are differentials. There is also a healthy prn market too if you want to work more than 3 days. I bring home ~50k. We have a 3600 sq ft house and live nicely. originally from Chicago where the pay is lot higher but the cost of living is even higher. Weather sucks in Chi/Mil area. Great places to visit... but here is a ton to do down and it is a very diverse population. We love it

Im in Raleigh at a local Hospital. Base pay is about $21 for new RN. BUT this is my first full year of nursing and with shift diffs, weekend pay, incentive pay and overtime, I made almost $80k this past year. My mortgage is $1100 for 3b/2b house outside of Raleigh. The opportunities are pretty good right now. Many hospitals building and expanding
