Hey Linda my name's Tamanna...!! I have been following the thread for updates..thank u guys so much...nursing school isn't easy but I heard group studies help a lot....its nice to see that everyone is so friendly and supportive... I totally agree with the no talking behind back part..!!

For the alternates make sure you turn in all the paperwork and attend the orientation, it is very important to attend the orientation for alternates also!!

Anyone know where else other than the bookstore to buy the books we will need...I definitely want to get a head start...I got the book list from spring and they are very expensive..want to find a cheaper way to buy them...I went over to the nursing office and met a wonderful faculty member who was very nice and very informative..she explained how the class settings are and I asked her if I needed all the books and she said mostly all of them...anyone have any info on books plz let us know...

I signed up for the CPR for tomorrow so hopefully I will see you Linda... thanx a lot for the information ...sorry I don't get to post much my work schedule is hectic...good luck to the ones who are waiting for response...

Yes, I went to speak with a nursing advisor yesterday and he said its really important for alternates to turn all their stuff in as soon as possible because a lot of people are applying from all different counties, alamance, rockingham, forsyth, even as far as cape fear in wilmington so he said there usually are people that get accepted to other schools plus many other reasons why people can't take their seat. He said one year they accepted as many as 40 alternates so that was definitely encouragement for me to get all my stuff done. So alternates don't give up!! :)

LM, I'm going to the BLS class in the am!!

Great! See you there, Mogget!!

That was the easiest BLS class I have ever taken. I recommend CardioSavers for anyone needing certification.

Much better than the $110 class from the Red Cross!

So excited, I have started a countdown clock until the first day of class. We have 24 weeks, 1 day, 17 hours, and 3 1/2 minutes till class!

Hospital regulations require a wheel chair for patients being discharged. However, while working as a student nurse, I found one elderly gentleman already dressed and sitting on the bed with a suitcase at his feet, who insisted he didn't need my help to leave the hospital.

After a chat about rules being rules, he reluctantly let me wheel him to the elevator.

On the way down I asked him if his wife was meeting him.

'I don't know,' he said. 'She's still upstairs in the bathroom changing out of her hospital gown.'

Haha, I'm gonna ignore all your count down posts unless I get in!

Momof2sons and Franchisebaby...we are waiting on a status report.

Mogget, surround yourself in positive energy!!! Just keep thinking you are in, because they will be going through some alternates - guaranteed!

Current countdown: 24 weeks, 1 day, 7 hours, 42 minutes, and 20 seconds.

It seems everyone has stopped coming to the forum now that letters are out...sure would like to get to know some of you on here before we meet in person. :nurse:

Current countdown: 24 weeks, 18 hours, 29 minute, 30 seconds.
