opinions? i’ve signed up to take a one day class on february 13th in raleigh (i’m from the coast but it was the closest, one day program.) i looked at two different, ones before settling on “cna now”. has anyone else taken this program on one like it? any other suggestions for studying? i want to take the cna test once.

i am trying to get my “foot-in-the-door” the medical field. i am taking a medical office technician (ekg’s, basic vinpunture, medical terminology, and basic office procedures) starting in a few weeks. and have applied to august entry into to local lpn programs. i already have the prerequisites for these programs and an associate’s degree in early childhood, so i hope to get into one of them…

Hi, I took the "other" one day CNA class that travels around NC. That class gave you a textbook to use at home before your class for the written part of the CNA exam and then reviewed the materials in the first part of the class. The second half was a skills review. Each skill was demonstrated with critical points and you could practice each for I think 2 hours after. If you arent familiar with the skills its really hard to become proficient in them in the class. Thats the advantage of the longer classes that go for weeks. You practice over and over. I wasnt prepared for the CNA exam after this class, I enrolled in a 6 week class really to learn the skills. If your a working nurse assistant or an NA from another state, this is a great refresher for the exam. If your new to skills, its not enough in my opinion.

Are you currenlty working in the Medical Field or just starting out? I've heard mixed reviews about taking a one class but don't want to spend 5 months at it. Thought I'd try this one...I talked to the owner, and he said if you fail the test the 1st time you can retake the classfor free but he'd never had anyone fail....

depends on the job u want, i believe fed law requires some places that receive fed funds to only hire cna's that have attended a state approved cna class (full labs, clinicals and class time) and passed the test.
