Byada in Asheville? LPN needs your help!

Hello All!

I am currently an LPN (working on RN online at excelsior) who is relocating to the Asheville area within the next few weeks and I desperately need a job! From what I can see there are not that many options out there unfortunately :( I graduated in 2009 and have been working FT in an urgent care setting ever since. I have see multiple ads by the company Byada and have seen mixed reviews about them online. They have an opening for LPNs for night and weekend work with pediatrics (Which I would love actually). I was just curious If anyone has worked for them in NC or Ashveille and what was their experience? Has anyone worked the night shifts by chance? Do they really pay what they say they do? They say LPN starting salary is $16/hr. They seemed very legit and nice but I was just curious because coming from an urgent care setting I have no experience with home health. Any information would be amazing! Or if anyone knows of any other FT LPN positions in the area open that would also be great! Thanks so much!

The only company I know of advertising in your area is BAYADA, not Byada...They are a Home Health and agency nursing company that has been in the business for 30 years. I have worked for Bayada on and off for about five years. They have offices on the east coast down to Florida and in Arizona.

I live in WNC and have known only one person (RN) who worked for Bayada doing home care. She was a new grad at the time and it turned out not to be a good fit for her since she didn't feel she had the support she needed as a new grad out working in people's homes alone. I don't recall her being treated unfairly in any way. I do not know what her pay rate was.

LPN jobs in this area are pretty much exclusively found in long-term care situations. Hospitals here do not hire LPNs for the most part. If you are anywhere close to Hendersonville, it is a retirement Mecca with several swanky facilities that offer independent living, assisted living, and skilled care where LPNs are hired. Asheville has some of these, too. I'm thinking specifically of Deerfields and Givens Estates.
