Hi! I am an RN but have a pending endorsement in NC BON. I really need and want a job now specifically caring for a senior. Any help will be highly appreciated. My endorsement will still take two mos long so I want to do something and share what I know while I wait.I tried to apply on institutions and companies as a caregiver but I think they are not liking me as an RN.I am thinking that personal referrals are more better options. Have you tried Craigslist or care.com? I'm also having my license endorsed (LVN) to NC but currently working as a caregiver (just for emergency call-offs as I can't commit to a long-term assignment right now).

I tried care.com and applied but I think being an RN is a liability in applying for a caregiver position.I will try Craiglist is that a website?Thanks much Sensoria. Are you form Raleigh also?

Go to craigslist.org. I'm sure somebody would be thrilled to have an RN working for them as long as you are honest about your situation (and aren't charging RN fees!).

I'm still in CA but will be visiting in just over a week and applying at LTC facilities. I'll be staying near Greensboro.

Of course I won't charging them Rn fees hihihihi:-) I am at craiglist.org now and I am trying to send them my application thru email but the system won't allow me do I need to sign up?My original RN licensure is from CA also they take so much time for my licensure verification. I believe you only have to sign up only if you are posting your resume. Otherwise, you can just reply to a job ad directly. Caregiver positions are usually listed under Healthcare/Medical. Good luck!
