Most facilities care about the patients, because that is where the money comes from. As far as caring about the employees, you may want to add a few more options to your list. I do not work there, nor have I ever. But, I have spoken to multiple nurses that have left HPR because they felt that they were not a valuable member of the medical team.

I'm sorry, didn't mean to depress you. HPC might be a great place to work now. I just know the approximately 10 nurses I've talked to left when their contract was up because there wasn't enough autonomy. Three have said that when things were running smooth, it was fine. But, anything that went wrong on your shift, it was all 'your' doing. I would still talk to them and see what they say.

I'm not sure how Rowan Regional Medical Center is, but that is in Salisbury and it is owned by Novant Health. I do staffing agency work at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston, which is Novant owned, and the employees there seem basically happy. Just your everyday gripes that you hear anywhere ;). I really enjoy working there. So, that may be an option for you. I believe the Rowan is comparable in size to HPU.

I was recently at HPR in a student nurse capacity and found the employees to be happy working there. In general, the nurses I spoke with had only good things to say about their jobs at HPR. Their new nurse orientation program seems thorough and it looks like it's planned to give a new nurse plenty of time and training to become proficient. I would certainly consider working there if I lived a little closer to High Point.

is it a magnet hospital or it that Forsyeth I'm thinking of?

Very low turnover rates. Many nurses there for 10-20 years. Magnet hospital with a strong Executive staff that actually learns who you are!!!

I did not know it is non profit
