St. Louis Children's Pay

Specialties NICU

Published

Hello All,

I've lurked this site while I've been in nursing school (graduate in December!), but have never posted. I'm looking for some information about SLCH and the pay for their NICU nurses.

I worked for SLCH as an early childhood teacher for five years prior to moving to Baton Rouge, where I am currently working and going to nursing school.

I am currently a NICU intern/tech. So, I have some experience in the NICU environment, as well as about 10 years of prior experience with children and families, and 5 years work history with SLCH.

All that to ask: can anyone here tell me what starting pay is like for NICU nurses at SLCH? I may need to move back to be closer to my parents and need to consider cost of living, etc.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

hi there, welcome to allnurses! You will probably get better feedback if you post in the Missouri forum and/or do a post search. Most NICU nurses are paid the same as other employees of the hospital, or at least the same as the other ICUs (cardiac ICU & PICU). The chances of finding a NICU SLCH nurse here is less likely. I would also recommend calling human resources at hte hospital and asking about starting pay for a new grad RN. They should be able to tell you- you can also look at the jobs on the website and a lot of hospitals will post the salary ranges- you'd be at the bottom end naturally being a new grad.

23.10 starting for new grads as of last December :)

I start in March and base pay is $24.10
