Bereavement Cards

Specialties NICU

Published

I'm looking for resources..cards to be sent out to families over the 1st year after a family has had a loss in the NICU.

We had used from the Pregnacy & Infant Loss Center in MN but they have gone out of business.

Ideas?

I know that Resolve Through Sharing offers these, or, even better, have you considered designing your own and having them printed up? You'd have much more creativity with this option (and I've used the RTS cards; they're nice, but nothing out-of-the-ordinary...I usually prefer to just buy my own, especially if I knew the family a bit or if the baby was with us for more than a day). They're organized through a church in Wisconsin; their email address is [email protected] . Or 1-800-362-9567, ext. 4747 . I had to get the address off a web site; sorry if it's not correct, but I believe it is.

Grief Watch has a web site and store with bereavement cards (you'll have to order their catalog to see them) and also these nice little "Certificate of Life" certificates. I think these are wonderful, and you could buy theirs or use this as a springboard idea for designing some unique to your hospital.

Also, this place is a wonderful resource: http://www.aplacetoremember.com/aptrfront.html , and they do have cards (a limited selection) along with all of their other things, but I again think that perhaps designing your own is the best idea! You can easily design a card through a high-quality copy shop or on a graphics program (like Print Shop or another that allows you to work with graphics, such as ADOBE Photoshop, where you could take a beautiful digital picture and then manipulate it within the program and come out with an original design that you could then have printed up).

Hope some of those help! :)

Thanks....I'll look them up tonight in a break period. We do get some from a gal in Iowa...now her name leaves me....but I'll get back to ya. I gotta get going on some of the bereavement support stuff tonight!

NICU nurse....the other cards I've found that are great are by Gail Kittleson....called "The Sometimes Line"...she used to be on line.

But listen guys her cards are great!
