Student in ADN program wondering about job prospects in NY.

Currently I have just finished my first semester of NS, working toward an ADN. I'm curious on how difficult it is to get a job in the NYC area graduating from a different state (MA). Has anyone had experience with this transition? I'm sure NY is very competitive, and I have read others difficulties in finding a job the NY area. However, I feel a move to NY might be necessary after I am done with my program. I wouldn't be against communting as to get my feet wet as a new grad. And any suggestions on bettering my chances for future sucess in landing a job would be much appreciated as well. I'm open to ideas!
