St Paul's School of Nursing 2011-2012 Acceptance

U.S.A. New York

Just wondering if anyone has any input at the above nursing program. Recently I received a call from the school (within the past month) and was urged to take the entrance exam. I took the entrance exam this past Thursday (5/26/11) and received my acceptance letter today (5/31/11). I hold a bachelors degree with the addition of about one year of nursing credits. I hear they transfer only a C+ or better which I am not too happy about since my Anatomy I is a C and Anatomy II stands at a C+. Luckily all the nursing credits are a B or higher. I have a feeling they are going to be stingy with my undergraduate credits and am not looking forward to repeating a class or two just for a couple of points. Does anyone have any feedback regarding which session to enroll in or how the scheduling process with regards to transfer credits works? Also overall feedback regarding the program would be helpful. Thank you!

Hello,

I am in the same situation. I have a B.S. in public health and have taken a&p &2, Micro, Chem and Organic Chem. I have recieved C in both Micro. What did they tell you about transfering you undergrad credits.

Thanks.

Hi CeCeStar5,

Well, originally I was scheduled to begin in January, but received a call this week to begin in September, how about you? As far as transfer credits, they only accepted the credits achieved within my bachelor's degree anything after is not acceptable which includes micro for me - which stood at a B. We met and reviewed my undergraduate transcripts and I have to admit, I did have to question a few things which luckily worked in my favor. So by all means don't be afraid to question things as well as stand your ground. Best of luck!

I was wondering how late I can apply to St. Paul's for a January 2012 start... And how did you apply since there is no application online

I requested the application package online I believe, but they called me before I even received it and within a couple of weeks I took the necessary exams and received my acceptance in days. It was surprisingly a rather quick process.

Sorry for late response. I will be applying for January 2012. Is it true that they transfer classes that are C+ or better. How is the school for you?

does anyone know what are the hours for the morning and evening session?

Morning is 7-3 I believe and evening is 4:30 to 10..

hi.i finished my first semester in april.it's wasn't too bad.you definitely need to work hard.but even then the material was quite easy.the issue is the volume of information is a lot.as far as i know yes the minimum they accept for transfer credits is C+.that is how it worked for me.if you do go here just steer clear of unnecessary drama that may come up.just do what you need to do.all the best.

Is the math section of the HESI difficult? How many questions?

No the math isn't difficult at all i believe it was some where between 50-100 questions consisting of mostly conversions. The vocab is what you have to watch out for. None of the words from the Hesi book was on my exam.
