Regarding Lactation Cosultant sertification & position

Hi dear members and medical professionals.

I am RN Supervisor-Instructor in NYC.

I deeply appreciate any real information regarding Lactation Consultant career pathway.

1. IBCLC-certification is the best to be much busy in NY hospitals? or PEER COUNCELOR certification or Certified Lactation Specialist certifications?

2. Do you know hands on training course, which provides AN HOSPITAL INTERNSHIP? as I know I will need may be 500 hrs...?

3. Online course would be beneficial to take & clinical practice separately I a hospital, AS I CAN NOT FIND TRAINING HANDS ON COURSE IN NY SO FAR???

What is the major need for training?Are you planning a training in the hospital for other nurses?

If you are planning to start a training in hospital setting, so it is a matter of your experience in planning syllabus and clinical setting for Nursing education. At the end of the program, the certification will be given to the student.

The question is how this certification will benefit the hospital, the student/RN and the clients (mothers and babies)

Lactation Consultant/ educators are very important in medical care and should be free for every mother that understands the idea.
