Pre-requisite for NYU nursing accelerated program

U.S.A. New York

Hello, I am planning on applying to the NYU 15 month RN program and attending hunter college for pre-requisites. I tried registering for Nutrition and Anatomy and physiology 1 for the fall but they are both full. I am thinking of taking them at Queensborough community college. Does anyone know the equivalent for Nutrition (NFS 141 hunter college) at Queensborough community college? I tried using the cuny site but it gives me strange codes that do not have a name for the course.

Moved to the New York State Nursing Programs forum for more of a response.

Check the CUNY TIPPS website. If they don't give a code that means the equivalency for that class is not offered at the college you want to attend--it will only show those colleges who offer the same/similar class. They may offer some other version but if you're not looking to go to Hunter's nursing school, it won't matter if Hunter accepts that class BUT it might matter to NYU if the class isn't what they're looking for. I permitted a number of classes because of scheduling - it's a great way to be able to get those courses knocked out and be able to work at the same time!

Also, OVERTALLY IS YOUR FRIEND! Keep trying to get into that course the week before, try try and try again. Everyone moves classes right before school starts. Call the department, go to the first day of class, email the prof telling them your situation and ask for an overtally. I got shut out of almost every single class I needed at Hunter and managed to get into them via the above methods--it's doable but a pain in the you-know-what.
