NYU ABSN Fall 2013 Entry

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hello everyone! I have submitted my application and my transcripts to NYU for the ABSN program beginning in fall 2013! I am very excited but surprised that we will be hearing so late about an admission decision. Is anyone else applying?

hey iitsalisa,

NYU sent me an email (about 5 days after I submitted my online application) to activate my assigned NYU NetID. Then I went to NYUHome and logged onto ALBERT to check on the status of my application.

Oh I understand. Damn the waiting ....... Lol

Any clue how we are to utilize the site? It says decisions will not be released on the site. I only seemed to get a netID after they received all of my paperwork so it doesn't seem to be a tool to check if all the pieces are there.

Nycnursetobe2014 how do you like nyu so far? Having read some older post about the school it really scared me.

I like it so far. The classes are fast paced and there is a TON of work that you have to do outside of class to keep up. I think that most of the complaints that I had seen on here were regarding the large classes and amount of self teaching you have to do. But it's an accelerated program and there is only so much you can cover in lecture each week I guess. I don't know, I personally think it's working out well for me- I'm learning a ton, really like my professors, am connecting well with classmates, doing well on assignments, etc. I would recommend it as long as you have the motivation to put the work in.

Thank you for responding so quickly. As a new member I can not PM people so its been hard trying to get anyone currently within the program to give me information as to whether the horror stories were exaggerated or not. I do have one additional question. As I've looked through more and more forums I find that a lot of people say the financial aid packages leave something to be desired. Is that the case? I fear should I be accepted, the price tag will be a too much for my husband to swallow.

Once again thank you for your help. I am still unable to respond to you

Personally as I have yet to reach that 15 post magic number, but I did receive your message

I have also got all of my credentials in I am so nervous!

I am nervous! I mail my supplemental in today.

Mailed my last recommendation yesterday... Now it's just a waiting game

I know! I hate waiting :(

same here, I only applied to NYU. I'm in panic mode because I do not know what other schools to apply to. I did not take organic chemistry and that's a new requirement a lot of schools have now. I really want to get into NYU. Its been my dream school since high school. =(

Hey guys!!!

I sent in all of my paperwork and now I am just waiting. I got 2 amazing recommendation letters, and amazing work and volunteering services. But my overall, gpa, Health and nutrition gpa, and Psychology gpa and pre-req gpa are all between 3.00 - 3.5 which is not good. I’m worried. Did anyone hear about which they take more into consideration?
