hey iitsalisa, NYU sent me an email (about 5 days after I submitted my online application) to activate my assigned NYU NetID. Then I went to NYUHome and logged onto ALBERT to check on the status of my application.

Did anyone take the TEAS and send the score report to NYU? I know NYU doesn't require the test scores but I put my score on my resume since I did well on it :) . I don't know if I'm supposed to send the official score report to them though...

I was confused too! I checked last year's forum to see how the applicants checked their application statuses lol. I went to Academics > ALBERT (I wonder why NYU calls it that, haha) > Application status and it shows whether they have processed your transcripts. :)

anyone logged onto the NYU homepage with your ID? there's so much stuff going on lol!

hey @missmo1984 first of all, congratulations! would you mind sharing your credentials and how long you worked as an RN? i'm looking to apply to NYU's mental health nursing program in a year or two. i applied to absn programs (including NYU) and want to know what other factors they consider. thank you!

it seems like the last two classes received their decisions at the end of the first week in Feb. maybe we will too! that's only 2 weeks away!

@dedicatedone and @CU2012, Which specialty did you apply for? Would you be able tell us anything about the psych and mental health specialty and how your cohort is divided up based on specialites? Also, I noticed that both of you listed languages along with your stats...is that an important factor for CUSON? Thanks!

Received my application status today too! "Your file has been forwarded to the Admissions Committee for review."- So nervous!

I'm sure many people went with the 2 page limit since that is written everywhere and the 500 word limit is only specified on the application checklist. I went with the 500 word limit. On one hand, the word limit might be there just so people know not to go over the two pages. However, it could be there to see who looked at the checklist and followed every last word of the the instructions. We have to understand that adcom will be reading A LOT of personal statements and we can't rely on them to forgive/ give them any reason to take points off our applications. Then again, I didn't attend the information session so I can't give you a definite answer. I know how hard it was to cut down the essay (I had to cut out almost 200 words lol). I played it safe, but I doubt adcom has an app that counts the amount of words on each essay. The most important thing is to make sure your essay doesn't look different from all the others. If you really can't make it more concise, I'm pretty sure the word count won't be a make it or break it factor. :)

Does anyone know by what time do we have to submit our application tomorrow (in order to make the priority deadline)? I'm still waiting on one more rec letter to be e-submitted! :/

can't believe it's almost the 15th! i'm still waiting for one more rec letter. : / i really hope my prof submits it on time because Columbia is my first choice! wish everyone good luck with finishing up their applications!

hey ya'll! I asked admissions about the GRE email and they said it means the earlier you turn in your application, the sooner they will review it. Also, if anyone else it wondering about the font type, the personal statement should be in Times New Roman.
