That sounds harsh...but i think i cud do it....im thinking bout going to school part time for the clinicals so that i can focus on getting straight A's and be accepted to the clinical phase without retention

To:letarn2b, Thanks for feedback.

Good discussion here and I do hope that more potential or actual students of MEC: past or current participate on this board, thereby helping others make informed decisions, when selecting a nursing programme of best fit..

Having said so, which institution did you chose?

By what month is acceptance letters for Fall 2009 are likely to be received? Could not find that information on MEC's site.

Vyibez

I am repeating letarn2b's question: have you recieved the actual acceptance letter?

Thanks always and regards to all.

i havent recieved it yet but i recieved an email online saying thank you , you have been accepted to medgar evers college and stuff..on the cuny application form, they said i shud recieving information in the mail to finlize my admisson soon

Thank you, Vyibez, once again for prompt response.

The school usually sends out acceptance letters in april or so because they take the nln in march.I dont understand why they wait so long because most schools tell you in march wheter you accept or not.

For vibez if you really want to do nursing make sure you choose a college that will guide you on that path.

Thanks for info.

Are you in nursing school?

If so what school?

If not, where would you like to attend and why?

I start fall 09 for my aas degree bsn was to expensive and i did not want 10,000to 15,000 in loans.

Most likely i will be going to suny clinton community college or tompkins cortland they have pretty good nclex rates and retention and the staff seemed very nice and helpful in answering my questions.

Thanks for sharing so much useful information and I wish you success with your AAS programme; where ever you choose to go. Good luck and study hard.

I think some of you are misinterpretting the acceptance letter for Medgar, unlike the other CUNY schools @ Medgar you have to complete ALL of your pre-req before you enter the clinical phase. The acceptance letter means you were accepted into the school to take the pre-clinical courses. Medgar only accepts approximately 40 students a semester and they start taking the students who were there in the school the semester prior. I went to this school and this is the main reason I had a tough time with this school. They say they take 2.5 on the website but trust me the 3.7 GPA and up are the ones getting in first.

i no..i was talkin about getting into into the college for preclinicals

Hi letarn2b

Since reading your post, I have made some enquires and the best strategy is to have many options as possible when pursuing the AAS. You seem to be very prudent , smart (lol) and resourceful in your quest for a school of best fit-bravo! Good luck!

In that regard, I will be grateful if you could pm me about Suny Clinton and Tompins Cortland. Info on tuition, passing grades, duration, location, transportation and housing will be welcomed. I will also be happy if you would keep me up todate with the pros and cons of your chosen school, which will help me decision wise.

Thanks
