Is this even legal??

2 weeks ago I got an acceptance letter saying I was accepted in The RN Pathway Program at Hunter, then I get in email today that this was an error, but I'm accepted into the regular school of art's and sciences (which I obviously didn't even apply to). Is this even legal? I'm reminded of the movie Admissions, where the is mistakenly accepted and the dean says they can't take back an acceptance. I know a similar thing happened at Vassar recently but that was over a span of 3 hours, the students were informed within a few hours. How is it that it took an entire 2 weeks to realize this mistake. In the mean time, I applied for housing and mailed a $100.00 check to save my spot. This seems weird to me, not to mention the dissapointment. Any ideas about the legal ramifications here?

This just happened to me so I havent started yet did it happen this year? That would be interesting lol

I went to Hunter but not for nursing. You will find inside the classroom the academics are great. Dealing with anything else is a pain. It even frustrates the professors at times. Keep telling yourself your student loan debt will be low.

thank you. Yes this is def a motivation to go there. Their nursing school has a good rep too. I applied to nyu and downstate havent heard back but theyre more pricey and while nyu is higher rated its way more than I wana be in debt for and prob same quality. Thanks that does make me feel better about my decision:)
