Hunter Requires Health, Liability Insurance and CPR Training Prior to First Semester?

U.S.A. New York

So confused.

I was going over Hunter's requirements for entrance into their nursing program and came across this:

All generic students admitted to the program are required to submit evidence of liability insurance, health insurance, medical records with specific immunizations and CPR certification prior to entering the first semester of the nursing major.

This makes zero sense to me.

The program is a day program, full time. So, how am I supposed to magically pay for health insurance while in school and have it before I start?

Same question for the .

For the people here who have applied or are currently going to Hunter, how did you deal with this? Is this true? I have never heard of this sort of thing!

I am not a current student, but I was admitted and I had the same question. If you are admitted to Hunter, it will be to the College, not the school of Nursing. Once you complete all the required pre-reqs or at least 1 semester, then you can apply for admission to the nursing program. It is one of those kinks with CUNY schools. Some of them do not directly admit to the nursing program. That gives you at least 1 semester to get things together. Most schools do have a group health insurance that you can participate in if necessary. Hope I answered your question.

Ah ok. That somewhat makes sense. I suppose that the whole need for matriculation for one semester prior gives you the time to get enrolled with the school's insurance if needed. Interesting.

Thanks.

ok this is the deal, the malpractice insuran is needed b/c you never know what can happen it's only 20 dollar a year... the cpr is about 60-70 dollars and the health immunization thing is for your own good when you go to clinicals you are exposed to many things and they want to make sure that you immune to some of these diseases you will be exposed to. there are many clinics that can do you phisical exam for free or at a low cost.:specs:

How would I go about finding clinics that will do the exam for free or at a low cost?
