I've been a member here for years now and this site helps me a lot with everything until I passed my NCLEX-RN. But all the hardships is not ending yet. I am a foreign graduate batch 2007 with no hospital experience at all due to all the review for licensure exams for my country and here and some changes in my life. Last year I moved here in NY and passed my NCLEX-RN last September 2009. It has been 5 months now since Ive been searching jobs. I had two interviews, lots of rejections, talked to nurse managers that just promise to call me back but never did, even nursing homes and doctor's office are not hiring me. i am just getting tired of this. I am already considering to work on a different field but I dont know where to start. Until tonight I realized that it will be 3 years this month that I am out of school with no experience and I am starting to become a potential candidate for a refresher course. I just thought about this after I had my interview last tuesday and was told that it might be hard for me to work in a hospital due to my big gap from school.
So can you give me your opinions about the RN refresher course at Molloy or other refresher programs in Long Island? Is it worth the money? And will I learn a lot since I am a foreign nurse and any ideas if it's possible for you to get hired after the course?
Thanks. All help will be appreciated.
