Hi, I was browsing through this thread and couldn't really find the information I was looking for, hopefully someone here has been through this schools program. I am interested in CSI and their website shows that in order to start NUR110 you have to have 4 pre-reqs, I have all except for A&P which I plan on re-taking in the summer due to a horrible grade . How hard is it to get into their clinical rotation once the pre-reqs are completed? Any other information about the program would be appreciated :)

Hi. I don't know if you're still looking for information about Nursing at CSI, since you posted this message a couple of months ago.

But just to answer some of your questions anyway, along with the pre-reqs, you'll need to take the NLN entrance exam (or if you've taken SAT II Bio, I think they accept that too. Not sure, so check the school's website again).

I did really well in my NLN and my prereqs so it wasn't so bad getting in.

I'm almost done with my first semester now (NRS 110) and it's a lot of work. So much reading for lecture, lab and clinical so you really have to keep up with everything or you'll be behind. Professors are great though. Very informative and helpful and they're not boring at all.

Clinicals in the hospitals can be intimidating at first but as you go on week to week, you start to feel more comfortable being there and of course you learn more as you go on. It's a great experience.

Good luck with nursing! I hope you find the school that's right for you, whether it's CSI or somewhere else. =)

Specializes in Critical Care.

Forget taking A&P over because if you look at their catalog you aren't allowed to retake any classes they won't count it towards it.
