Classes that transfer from NCC to Stony Brook...

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hey guys,

I am trying to get my prerequisites done before September of 2012 so that I can apply to SBU's 12-month program within a year. Do they have any other start dates other than September?

Anyway, I tried to get into Chemistry I at Nassau Community College, but I am wait-listed and doubt I'll make it in. Admittedly, I didn't think I'd be taking any classes, so did it very last-minute.

Just to be sure, these are the classes at NCC that I'll have to take before I can apply to the program?

Chem I (Chem 131)

Chem II (Or another science... I took Biology 101 at Boston University my first year. Does this count?)

Microbiology (Bio 214)

Anatomy & Physiology (AHS something at NCC)

Does anyone have any experience transferring just these classes?

What else should I know when applying?? There is no reason why SBU would get rid of the 12-month program, right? A little paranoid, yes, but just curious. So glad to see there is so much support on this site! I am so excited to start my training to become a nurse and this is so encouraging!

Regards,

Mindy

i am not sure about transferring to stonybrook, but for nassau the classes are ahs 131 (A&P 1), and ahs 132 (A&P 2), and ahs 202 (microbiology). 132 and 202 can be taken together after you complete 131.
