Applying in person at Columbia Presbyterian, better chance for interview?

U.S.A. New York

Does anyone that's applied or works/worked there, know if going in person to the employment office and filling out an application, can result in a better chance of getting an interview? Is there a nurse recruiter that can interview people on the spot sometimes?

I'm only wondering because I've applied on their online site for several positions for the past 7-8 months, all which did NOT require experience, only a BSN, RN. But I always get those rejection emails, that look like form letters.

I wonder if they even have the time to read the hundreds of resume they may receive online daily.

I also have written decent cover letters with the help of past professors. I don't know why it's so difficult to get an interview there.

Even with listing my friend as a referral, I still get no chance to interview.

Plus,a friend that works there (not a nurse) keeps telling me they are often hiring nurses w/o experience.

So would it be better to go in person to apply, to hopefully get an interview?
