All scrubbed up in Penn Station!

Calling all you commuters! I'm from Long Island and commute into a city hospital for my day orientation. I wear my scrubs to work, but find myself to be the only one breezing through Penn Station donning them. Am I breaking some unsaid nursing rule by not changing at work? Or breaking the infection policy (which.. makes sense)? Is it a comfort issue? If not, this leads me to wonder -- where ARE you guys?

P.S. If you're ever in Penn - come find me. I'm not hard to miss.

P.P.S. If I AM breaking something, I'm sorry.. and I do feel stupid. lol.

I see a lot of people wearing scrubs on their way to work. I would think you are at great risk of someone spilling coffee on you. A lot of New Yorkers commute with coffee cups.

When I was in nursing school in the city, if you drove to the hosptial you could wear your scrubs but if you took public transportaion you had to change at the hospital. Ask your clinical instructor. Don't feel bad.

Ahh, thanks so much for the helpful replies. I talked to one of my co-workers who comes in through Grand Central -- she said she doesn't see many people either (also comes into work wearing scrubs). I can see how it could go both ways.
