UMDNJ Accelerated BSN Summer 2013

U.S.A. New Jersey

Published

Hey everyone, is anyone in the process of applying or have already applied to UMDNJ's ABSN program for the summer of 2013? It would be great to hear what applicants thought about the application process. Thanks!

Hi,

I asked the school and they said that all you nee is to create an account, not to register for any test. That's been taking care of already they said.

They also said that the test is gonna take about 5 hours, and that it wont affect the decision of getting into the program.

If you guys would like to continue chatting... This is my email: [email protected].

I am gonna start reading a TEAS book today, even though they say there is nothing to study for.

I wish you all good luck.

Oh okay great! I submitted my deposit today. They just informed me that orientation is the 18th, and that i should receive a letter with more information in regards to that and the TEAS. I just received a letter today about signing up for financial aid through UMDNJ website (wish I realized I had to fill this out sooner).

Hi,

Did they tell you that they are going to email you the letter? That's what they actually did with me. If you haven't received an email with the letter you should call them back, is better to get it as an email, that way you can set up the day for the TEAS, which is April 8th.

Hey, is anybody setting up a Facebook Page?

I was wondering the same thing ! We definitely need to make one for our class.

Newark students( sorry for the caps )

this is the information that has been provided to me from the staff at the school.

F.a.

Being that we are 2nd degree students most if not all of our tuition will be paid via loans & grants etc. There is a cap of how much you can get unsub/sub but it is based on need.

Teas

the exam as i think someone said before is not a entrance exam its like a placement test. Which is why we have to take it before we start the nalc classes.

As far as i remember i was told the nalc class was not a choice it is on a need basis

nalc classes

about a week or so was the last time i spoke with someone about the class and was informed that the class dates has not been decided as of yet and they have been playing with the idea of maybe even offering it online. However the first thing that needs to be done is take the teas exam ( their words not mine).

Uniforms

not sure if everyone got the email just now but the uniforms can be ordered by the same company that was originally discussed in our welcoming packet.

Hope i have helped in someway.

I will set up a facebook page later tonight for those enrolled in the summer 2013 program.

Hi, is anybody planning to dorm or find an apartment near Newark campus?

I'm trying to get info about Newark dorms & affordable apartments in the area. I currently live in Bronx, NY.

Any help will be appreciated. Thanx.

I work in Newark there are some students that live in the housing. The area is not good so I would suggest looking at the area and seeing what you think. After dark is never good, crime is relatively high, never drive with your windows open in Newark.

Another suggestion for your clinical avoid University hospital it's not a warm environment for nurses. There are other hospitals that you can go for your clinical that are better. Good luck. It's a good program but tough don't take anything for granted.

Ah, thanks!

I thought it was going to come through the mail, but I received an email as well! It just talked about how to register for my.umdnj portal, orientation date and time, and a copy of the curriculum. It didn't mention anything about TEAS though...:sniff:

This was extremely helpful. I received my acceptance letter so recently that a lot of this information has yet to be mailed/emailed to me by the school.

I have a question about the uniforms though. Does anyone know if the cost will really amount close to $381.00 dollars? What company can you order the uniforms from?

You all are being very helpful, i'm so grateful.
