Felician's Online NP program

U.S.A. New Jersey

Hi Everyone!

This is my first time posting on allnurses. It's nice to be able to connect with other nurses in a world where nobody quite understands your schooing/career struggles better than a fellow nurse.

I'm currently a Burn Step-down RN at a local hospital, though most of my experience has been acute rehabilitation (4 years). This fall, I'll be starting Felician College's Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) program. It's a 3 year online cohort program where most students, if not all, are New Jersey residents.

I know any online schooling has the disadvantage of no face-to-face contact with instructors and peers- what is your take on this specific online MSN program? How effective and helpful are the professors? How many hours do you work alongside this schooling? Has it been worth it for you? Unacceptingly challenging? I'd love to hear your opinions!

I would also like the know the answer to this!! I am interested in applying for the fall of 2016 after I have one year of med/surg experience. Also, is it 3 years of full time course work?

First trimester is one 3 credit course, the following 3 trimesters are two 3-4 credit courses each, and the final 4 trimesters are 5-6 credit clinicals. It's somewhere in between part and full time. Academic advisor told me most students hold full time jobs while in the program.
