Hello All!

I have been accepted to CHSON class of 2016! Wanted to know if there was anyone out there that was accepted also! It's time to earn my stripes and I am more than ready to get in there!! :bookworm:

Congratulations!

I am still waiting to hear from the school. I kind of waited until the last minute to apply, so I hope that isn't held against me.

When did you apply? Did you take the pre-NLN or did you submit SAT scores?

Congrats again! Hopefully I'll be joining you :-)

Thank you so much!

I applied in early April and was pretty nervous because the secretary informed me that students were already receiving acceptance letters. By May1st I got my letter of acceptance! I submitted my SAT scores and was omitted from taking the exam. Good luck to you!!!

Hopefully I will see you in June! :)

Oh wow, OK. I applied in late April! I went to the information session they held in Union City on 4/23 and made my decision then.

I did receive notification that they received my application and that they were still making decisions on 5/13, so hopefully I'll hear something soon! STRESSFUL!

Congrats again.

By the way, when is the orientation?

Hi, I was also was accepted to Carepoint school of nursing but placed on the waitlist for fall 2014 wondering if any current or former students have been through this process. Any information would be helpful.

Hey everyone! how are you liking Care Point School of Nursing? I am an LPN, and will be joining the class in January (was able to skip the first semester because of my current license) and wanted to know how people were enjoying it, how the clinical swerve, and how the tests are?

I can only speak for myself but I love it. Admittedly, Fundamentals is a walk in the park compared to the fresh hell that is Nursing 120 and beyond, so I may not be able to speak to the full experience of the school but what I can tell you is come prepared to work. The teachers are great but they don't hold your hand. You'll be doing a lot of self-study and will be expected to consistently remediate on your skills. There is little room for failure. The tests are difficult, but not impossible if you consistently study. Tutoring will be your friend!

The clinical experience is varied dependent on your instructor. Some of us have been working with our own patients since the beginning while some of us are paired up with a classmate. There is a lot of busy work that goes into clinicals...we have to give pre and post clinical reports and hand in weekly clinical guides as well as concept maps. Additionally, we are responsible for submitting a Docucare file on our patient.

Since you'll be joining us in 120, your rotations will include Psych and Med-Surg. Clinical will be two days a week for a total of 12 hours and lecture will be two days a week.

That's about it. I'm in the day division and it's a great group of people. The students I have met from the evening division seem nice as well.

Welcome to the class of 2016!

I am currently in the application process for CarePoint. Can you give me a walk through of how you applied and got accepted.

For me, I was lucky. I waited until probably a lot longer than you should (I applied in April) and made a mad and stressful dash to get all of the requirements sent in on time (transcripts, SAT scores, letters of recommendation, etc). So, I DO NOT recommend that you take the path I took.

As for how I got accepted, I don't know for sure. I had a great track record academically (undergrad and Master's), my letters of recommendation came from two respected members in their fields, and I wrote a pretty decent essay.

There are students in my class who have been LPN's for over a decade and there are people who graduated high school last year. I don't think there is one type of criteria they are looking for.

We are having an open house at the school on 11/12/14. Stop by if there are specific questions you need answered!

I am currently enrolled in HCCC taking a few classes I hope I get into the program for Fall 2015! I'm taking my entrance test on the 20th wish me luck! I will definitely go to the open house .

Good luck! I'll be at the open house so feel free to say hello and I can answer any questions you have in person.
