Burlington County College Spring 2010?

U.S.A. New Jersey

Has anyone heard or does anyone know when we should hear about acceptance into Spring 2010? I have all pre-req's done, no reason I shouldn't get in, but I want to get that letter! I have a feeling it won't come until sometime in Sept, though.....

Dr. Davis rocks!!!!! He is the best teacher for Microbiology -- unfortunately, he just told our class that he is leaving...relocating out of state :(

Just finished 119. I think the number is more like 40% did not make it. It is their weeding process. Dr. Davis was a great teacher. Sorry to hear that he is leaving. Mrs. Apoh who teaches the first semester of nursing is awesome. Loved her!! She is so entertaining and you will hear her voice in your head during every exam! Give the program 100% and you will be fine.

Hey everyone! I'm new to this website and it has been very helpful in reading the different replies. I am applying for BCC's nursing program for Spring 2011 and very anxious about receiving my acceptance letter. I sent in my intent to enroll form April 2 and am finishing my pre reqs right now. I will be done Micro and lab in 2 weeks and at that point everything will be completed! I called the nursing admissions director who said their not making decisions until after summer grades are in. So do you guys think I have a good chance of being accepted into the spring program? Also how many days are clinical and classes the first semester? What time are clinicals for the evening program?

As long as you will have all your pre-req's done, you have a really good chance of getting in. I waited almost 2 years, and it's very competitive to get a spot. It wasn't until I had everything "done" that I got a call back (I was on the waiting list). Keep your fingers crossed! I wish you luck and hope to see you in the program!:)

thank you! I'll be done with Micro and lab in 2 weeks and then im going to be anxiously waiting to see what happens! They said their hoping to have acceptance letters out in September so September cant come soon enough

I also just completed 119. Mrs. Apoh is a great lecturer; you will certainly pay attention to her in class! Some of her exam questions can be unclear (my opinion) at times. If you have any problems, go talk to her. She is very open and wants her students to succeed! Keep up on your readings; don't get behind. Go to open lab and practice the skills you learn (you won't have much time if any to practice during lab class). Attend Ms. Connor's practicum review sessions; she knows what the instructors look for.

I also have to agree with a previous post that more like 40% of the class dropped..or as Mrs. Apoh would say "were not successful". Don't let that number scare you.

Be prepared to feel like a deer caught in the headlights for the first two weeks. You will feel overwhelmed at first but it does get better. You will hear over and over again, "A's in regular school mean B's (or less) in nursing school". Some of the instructors may come across strong/strict at first but will lighten up as the semester goes on.

Evening 119 is Monday Tuesday lecture from 4-5:50, clinical Wednesday 4-10:30 or 4:30 to 11, and lab Thursday from 4-7:30 or the clinical/lab days are switched depending on what section you signed up for.

Good luck! =)

Also, an 80 is a C and a 79 or below is considered an F on all tests and quizzes. You must have at least an average of an 80 to pass the nursing course.

The acceptance letters for the Spring 2010 class were not sent out until 9/22/09. It seemed like forever.

thanks everyone and yes September feels so far away. I just want to know if i got in or not!
