Does anybody attend the accelerated BSN program in NJCU? If so what is the cost of the program? How competative is it to get in? Will they accept you if your overall GPA is lower than a 3.0 but you have a very high GPA in your prerequisites? Any answers would be appreciated. Thanks.

i don't think its that big... jc is bigger than wall campus i hear

The sept. cohort is aound 45 pp and may cohort is around 30

Can anyone from the sept cohert tell me how many hours are spent in a day for clinicals? Do they start early in the morning and go until late at night?

Guys-how was the hesi for you guys? I dont know anything about the test and i am taking it soon. I will study from the evolve book-any other suggestions? also what sections do we study from?

I took the Hesi test on the 8th... it wasn't difficult at all.. study from the study guide and take the practice test on the back.. The practice tests were helpful for me.

Hi Kaylah18,

I'm new to this site so I hope this message reaches you. I was wondering if you could let me know a little about the daily schedule for May's class. I just got excepted, but I live in North Jersey so I'm trying to figure out what would be the best transportation and how early I would have to be down there everyday. We start the 17th!! So soon, I'm very excited!. If you could help me out with this I would greatly appreciate it. ttyl...

Hi LovingCare84,

Congrats on getting accepted!!!

We have a few students that are from north Jersey and the commute is tough for them, but they make it work....

Our schedule (Wall Cohort) the first semester generally went from 8am or 9am-4pm Monday – Wednesday and Thursday & Friday were clinical days: 7am – 1pm.

Second semester we went Tuesday – Thursday classes 8am -4pm and clinical was Friday and Saturday 7am – 3pm.

Currently, our classes are 8/9am – 3/4pm Monday, Wednesday, Thursday. Clinical Tuesday 8am – 1pm. Friday 7am – 3pm and a few days 7am – 7pm.

Each year they shuffle the classes around between the semesters because of instructor/facility availability, but your schedule should be pretty similar to that. If you have any other questions, please ask. Good luck!

Hey..omg can u share ur credentials on getting Accepted into the school? Did u have a BA from another school? GPA and experiences? Essay topic? u got into jersey city? I also live in North jersey. So when did u hand in all of ur application? and isnt it due the 15th?

Hi Aspiring N.,

I applied for the wall township cohort that starts in May (I wanted to get in and get out)!!. I do have a BA from William Paterson in Applied Health. My overall GPA wasn't great, but I've worked in a hospital previously, I have training in dialysis., not sure if any of this helped me to get in. All of our info was due in the beginning of March. Have you taken the Hesi exam yet?.

Kaylah18,

Thank you!. I'm extremely happy that I got in!, been wanting it for so long.

This info about class times is definately helpful for me to figure out this whole transportation deal. So is there really NO public transporation around the school? Would you happen to know how far the Belmar train station is from the campus? Sorry if its too many questions!. The program is starting so soon!.

Hi Kaylah18,

7 is very early if you're using public transportation. Do they ever give you an option of coming in the afternoon instead?

Hi

I was just on the njcu site and for those like myself who are applying to the jc campus for sept the application deadline has been extened to the 22nd so we have an extra week!
