U.S.A. New Hampshire

Published

hey...just wondering if anyone here had applied to either the manchester campus or stratham one? We can wait in misery together! :lol2:

I have applied at both. I am waiting to hear. I did get accepted to NHTI :) I need to get all of my responses back before I decide 100% what I am doing...GOOD LUCK!

Quick response!!

:balloons: CONGRATS on getting into NHTI! :balloons: i've heard that ones a little tough to get into, but that they have a good program that really pushes you to be a great RN.

Please let me know when you get your letters from the other two! I know its still a few weeks away, but i cant wait to find out!!

I found out today that shes hoping to have letters out from stratham next week......of course things CAN change so we will see what happens :)

Yup, I am waiting too. I am waiting on both Stratham and Manchester. I did just find out that I got into concord also, but it is a little further for me so I am not sure what I will do if I have the option to choose.

I got into Concord too and am waiting on Stratham and Manchester.

But, I'm definately choosing Concord b/c I live in Concord.

I did get a transfer credit letter from Manchester about 2 weeks ago.

Good luck to all who are waiting for THE letter!! I was in the same position last year and remember it well!! I was literally stalking the mailman!! Anyway I did get accepted to NHCTC-Stratham and I received my letter at the end of the first week in April - so I would say anyone waiting on Stratham will hear next week! Again good luck to all ;)

Hey Yet2bRN, I totally understand the whole stalking the mailman, although I am not quite sure why I am bothering, I will hear on here first when the letters are received and it will take an extra few days at the very least for me to get word in Hawaii...but still I do it! :lol2:

How do you like the Stratham campus and how is your overall experience so far? The teachers, students, etc?

Thanks for the well wishes for the rest of us waiting!

Hi! roxy3773,

Stratham has been a great experience so far! For the most part the instructors are excellent - very supportive and encouraging. A lot is expected of us all but I think we all knew that going into the program! The second semester is so much more of a challenge than the first and I hear it only gets worse! As far as the students go, the ages vary, we have six males, varying levels of education and health care experience; I would say we all get along really well.

Any other questions - let me know!

Yet2bRN - Do they have math tests every semester where you have to pass at least one with a 90% or better or your out? How do your clinical rotations work? I got accepted to Concord and am waiting to hear from stratham and manchester. I've heard that Stratham is slow to teach you things, how do you feel about that? How big are the classes there? Thanks :)

Hi Jamie-Sue,

Yes we have a pharm/math test at the beginning of each semester and you are right we have to get a 90 but we do get 3 attempts. It is a case of really keeping up with drugs we cover in lecture and any math formulas throughout the semesters - easier said than done!!

Our clinicals are one day a week for the first semester, then two days from then on. We first do a semester in long-term care/rehab then for the last three semesters we rotate through maternal-child, med-surg(x3), psych and community. Our clinical rotations are 8 per group we have 56 approx in our class.

I wouldn't say they are slow to teach things, however, I would say we are expected to seek opportunities in clinical.

Congrats on your acceptance to Concord and good luck with your other applications!!

Bye!

I just called the school today. The letters will be mailed tomorrow. We should get them this weekend. GOOD LUCK!
