UNLV SON Spring 2014??

U.S.A. Nevada

Hi all, wondering if anyone is applying to the nursing program at UNLV for spring 2014? This kills me to ask; but if so, how many points do you have and what makes you want to be a nurse? Good luck to all those hopeful nurses out there☺☺☺

I hope your x-rays go good and you don't end up having anything else to do. I thought we had to get a TB shot after the quantiferon test but I guess not:)

I have a question regarding the UNLV BSN program. While in the program taking the actual nursing classes, are you required to take non-nursing classes or is it just the core nursing classes? I'm asking because I was told that the program is 15 credits per semester but this

http://www.unlv.edu/sites/default/files/degrees/plans_of_study/2012-14PlanofStudy-BSNursing_0.pdf

states that you take 8-10 per semester. If it is only the classes listed, how does one qualify for financial aid?

Look at the column to the far right. You'll see that there is an average of 15 units/semester. I think you're looking at the column on the far left which doesn't include the additional 4+ units/semester for clinicals.

I see now! Thanks so much!!

Did anyone else have their first name cut off on their ID badge? My first name is only 10 characters and my name tag only has 8 of them.

Mine's not cut Jaxx.

Is everyone else done with the Waiver form for the Student Health Insurance? I have just seen it awhile ago.

Congrats to everyone that got in this semester! My name is Lynsie and I bought the ebooks bundle at the library for $350. Has anyone else bought the ebooks? I feel like its only 1 book?? The fundamentals of nursing. I don't see anywhere else that it says the rest of the book titles. If so, that is lame! I went to activate the code and it says to talk to the professor about if they use webcampus (blackboard) or the Elsevier. Anyone activated theirs?

Also, I started a Facebook group page. It is UNLV Nursing Graduates Spring 2015. My name is Lynsie Brunt Overman. So get the word out! My cousin just went through a nursing program and she said it worked really well for them and communicating with each other!

We have clinicals the same day/hospital ^_^ I haven't activated mine yet... I'm holding off until orientation.

How did you know the clinicals already? :/
