TMCC Fall 2011

U.S.A. Nevada

Does anyone have any idea when they will or if they have begun sending out the acceptance letters for the Fall? Its crazy to me that they wait so long to tell you. Makes it hard to plan!

I was the only one in the office when I went and was able to talk to ------ right away. I went around 1 pm, you should be fine! My calculations for total points was exactly what they had, go to MY TMCC and get on the "what if" report and write down all the classes that you have that count towards nursing degree (that's what shows up on the what if report) and get a GPA calculator online (you need the number of credits per course also). I referred to my HESI report and recalculated all 10 of the sections they count (not chemistry) and divide that number by 1000. Then divide this number by 25. Add the GPA and HESI and you should have your number that they use. It was kind of weird, my HESI number that I and TMCC calculated was slightly different than the one that was given to me by HESI. So your points might improve somewhat.

Of course there is still hope for you, you are at least in the 7.15 range, she said there were about a page and a half of people ahead of me and to not get my hopes up because they had 100% acceptance so far. Definitely remain positive in your position, things can change and you seem like you have a good number. Good luck!;)

They let people in who haven't finished pre-req's? That doesn't seem fair... I thought you had to be completely finished or done by time they reviewed to apply...thats what took me so long to apply.

I did a double take on that too. I think that it used to be that you applied in feb or march for fall and you had to be done with them. So classes you were taking spring semester didn't qualify you. Now the deadline was pushed back for applications to allow people to finish spring classes before they applied for fall.

Yes, reno you are correct. It just turned out that they tweaked this year just a little from what had been done in the past. ------ said that next year will be more like normal and something about the application period changing back again?! Sounds like things will still be in the air and confusing then as well. I guess it's just wait and see.. again. At least you guys don't have to worry!

Okay. Well it looks like I'm headed up to campus first thing on Monday. Based on my what if report GPA calculation and my HESI score without the Chem section I come up with 7.2380. Now I'm very concerned something went wrong - a miscalculation, my change of mailing address didn't go through, something - but what? Ugh, more waiting . . . until Monday.

Checking in at the office sounds like a really good idea for you! They'll be able to get it all cleared up and explain how they calculated. I brought my HESI results and my calculations for the GPA with just in case there was a discrepancy so they could see how I came up with my number. Hopefully there is an error in your favor! Good luck with that!:hrnsmlys:

Just to be clear: my overall score was not miscalculated. I thought that the What-If report was the authority on my GPA that they would use but it in fact is not. The GPA used is in the What-if report but only the courses that go toward the degree, and nothing else.

I think they calculated scores very well, but if your status is in question due to Good-Neighbor status, as it was with others on this board then I would say you've got cause for concern, otherwise you should be good to go.

Bio are you going to recheck tomorrow?

Bristow. . I was thinking of checking on Wednesday because I heard the final deadline for Spring acceptance was Tuesday, but I'm not sure if there is any validity to that statement. . . that was my plan anyway . . . what do you think ?

That was my case... No problem with scores. They just had to reprocess my application as good neighbor and my score got me in... Good luck!

I was a late send out on spring acceptance. My letter says by 5:00 on weds 27th. Maybe check on the 28th...

You should have Sleniz mole around for you tomorrow to see if anyone has not accepted! :) Just to try to quench the curiosity! Ha!
