CSN Spring 2010

U.S.A. Nevada

hello all,

i'm a newbie and a little nervous. i have questions and honestly, i don't know where to start. but, i'm starting with -->> is anyone applying for csn spring 2010 at all? i think the deadline is sept 1st. it's only 2 weeks away, anyone care to share if they have any problems or concerns turning their applications to the office? any input is appreciated.

I have applied twice and got in the second time. Just make sure that all of your requirements are attached to your application. I am sure that there are lots of people applying but most of them don't come in here. Good Luck and keep checking back! This is a great resource to have of peers who are driving on the same road! Good Luck!

I got in when I applied but it felt like it took me days to get my paper work together and filled out to be turned in to the office. Many of my friends did not apply due to being ill advised on their chances of entry. You will be in GREAT company this spring, they are super cool and awesome! Good luck!

OOOOHhhhh and do not wait until the last day to turn in your app; because if there is a chance of a tie- or possibly missing information- you want to turn it in early so you have the time advantage. No worries, the lady goes through the entire application while you are there and if anything is missing- she will let you know!

HI! I also applied for spring sem! Im really nervous! It's my first time applying. I already turned in my application right after I passed the teas. How many points aren't applying with?and do u know their cut off points for spring?

I came across the threads here from previous applicants and they are very helpful. Hope we can keep in touch since were on the same boat. :-)

thanks littlebugger and mia70 for your tips! they're greatly appreciated. i've read several threads about people applying to csn (for the past semesters) and now, it looks like there's a lot less people applying for spring 2010! i wonder what happened to the anxious/worried people like me? haha. . . wherever they are, they're awfully quiet? anyway, i just hope i get in.

did ya guys have the "lottery" thing done too, when u first sign up for your classes? one of the threads said that, we should bring food?

hey registered nut. . . i had to go back to that k bldg ofc a 2nd time just to make sure that all my paperwork is in order. the lady looked at all my paperwork and told me i was all set, so i guess it's the waiting game for me now. this girl i talked to near the snack bar told me they usually inform accepted students by end of october. waiting game can be brutal though.

Yes, Yes, and yes, we did the lottery thing. Write down the group # cuz that is what you will "bid" on when your number is called up. Food is smart since you are there all day long! The room is HOT, no air, wear comfy, skimpy clothes, sit in the back- more air from doors open and closing. It is a lot of info long before you will need it so relax. You have time...

I just did a new post but ran into this thread, thank goodness. I too just applied for Spring 2010 entrance but I am very doubtful of my chances because I still have to complete Anthro 200 and Pharm 203 which I am taking this semester. Would you mind sharing your "stats?" I'm curious to know how other people are doing so it gives me a gauge of where I need to be. I got a 141 on my NLN and am planning on retaking it in January. The first time I took it in July they didn't warn us that time was up so with 20 seconds left I had to randomly bubble in the last 20 questions in the vocab. I was so upset and rattled for the rest of the test. I currently have a 4.0 GPA but still have to battle through Anthro and Pharm this semester so I guess I will reapply for Fall 2010 if I don't get in. It's like I know I won't get in but for whatever crazy reason I am anticipating the letter with a hopeful attitude. And if you don't have any healthcare experience starting this semester, then you are already at a negative in comparison to those students who have the experience. I think it's a little unfair but what can you do...I talked to the counselor before I turned in my app and he said that instead of 30 seats, there may be up to 50 seats available this Spring 2010 semester as they have hired new teachers. I hope this is so and that they can work it out in time for the semester. This waiting game is going to bring on those dormant white hairs. **Sigh**

Oops, I'm applying for the RN ADN, not the CSN, whatever that is. See, I told you the waiting would drive me crazy, it's already starting. Well, goodluck to all of you!

Are you going talking about unlv? csn and nsc don't use the nln, we use the teas test.

Good luck everybody

Its so nerve racking! :crying2:

I heard there are 120 positions open. Half is for the reinstatements and the other are for new applicants. Does anyone know if there's any thruth to this?

8 weeks to go.... I hope we get in Vegas2009. :nurse:
