Any Nurse "Like" their job in Las Vegas?

Hi. I have been a nurse since 1993 and have had many jobs. I would leave jobs because I became unhappy real fast usually within a year. I finally found a job I like. The only negative is I feel I should be paid more. I have weekends, holidays, lots of flexibility and a great boss in lieu of great pay. I actually took like a $12,000/yr pay cut. I was just wondering if other nurses liked their job, and would take a pay cut for better working conditions?

I would take a pay cut if I loved my job. I recently went from nights to days and took a 10K cut but I am much healthier for it.

I like my jobs/work arrangement...part time/per diem combination...for me=lower stress, flexibility and varied work experience. If you're able to maintain your lifestyle and financial responsibilities with the lower paying job, it balances out as your health and happiness are pricele$$...you're better able to focus on and care for your patients...at performance review time, ask for a raise(you might get it) and meanwhile, register with an agency(or 2) so that you can work shifts as needed for supplemental income...best wishes: )

What field are you in now? I work per diem and its ok. I'm happy with the wage and it pays the bills. Lots of BS though. If I could switch out of direct care, or at least find direct care I like I'd take a pay cut to be happier.
