Post NCLEX anxiety, need some encouragement

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

I took nclex this morning, computer shut off around 110 questions. i was too concentrate on the questions, didn't really notice the exact number it shut off.

I feel so bad about it, i feel a lot of questions i don't know the answers, i was keep guessing them:( . I had lots lots of priority and lots of S/S of GI GU and prioritize questions, no more than 5 psych questions, a couple OB and peds, 5-6 of check all apply, couple cancer questions, 5-6 neuro questions i feel pretty good about, a couple of medication questions. no calculation at all.

in all these questions, i had few maybe less than 5 questions that were very very easy that i know the answer right away. I am not sure if it is a good sign or bad sign. it seems like the computer knows my weakness and keep throwing me those questions.

I wanted to cry after i walked into my car, because i felt like i failed this time even though i still have chances to take it again. But i was not prepared for failing, especially on 5/10 my HESI exam i got 958, which is pretty good score comparing with my classmates. And from our teacher said, previous years students who pass the HESI the first time all pass the NCLEX.

I never feel so anxious as i am now. i guess i will not be able to do anything until i got the result this weekend.

So you felt dumb afterward? You didnt know any of those strange questions and stranger answer choices? You were guessing almost all? You feel like you failed?

From reading this board, it seems that MOST people feel exactly as you have described, and most pass. So why dont you go rent a movie or two, or get out and do somthing to distract yourself. I know, easier said than done. I was in your situation just last night. Just think, if you were able to narrow it down to 50/50 and then you made and educated guess, you have a good chance of getting more right than wrong.

Hello,

Don't feel discouraged! I also took NCLEX today. I got about 92-96 questions. I have no idea how I did. There was some I knew and some I didn't. I took LPN boards 10 years ago and felt the same way! I got about 160-180 back then and passed first time. I tried not to worry today but now am so ready to now if I too passed! On LPN boards if I missed one I got a similar question that was a little easier, but today I didn't get any over the same subject again. We had to take the ATI tests in school and did pretty good, I also took the Kaplan review. Hope it all helped me pass. Think positive! Hopefully we will know tomorrow or Saturday!

Thanks guys, i will try to not to think too much about it for the rest of the week.

I don't feel the GI GU questions that i got wrong they gave me some similar but easier ones. the easy ones are not related to the ones that i don't know. that is the problem i worry about.:(

Everyone feels this way..............trust me..............I failed for two days until I found out I passed. Told EVERYONE I failed. Didnt even see the point of waiting to see if I did or not. Sounds like you passed to me. So just wait it out. Gonna be the longest few days of your life!! By the time you get the results................you would have been so worried and anxious that when they do tell you that you pass.............you wont even know how to feel. I agree that the computer should simply shut off and tell you whether you pass or not right there and then!
