Passed NCLEX w/ 265 Questions

I made a profile for this site just so I could share this and hopefully spread some encouragement. I have stalked these NCLEX forums, trying to relate to someone who could have possibly taken the same amount of questions, the same amount of times, with the same amount of fear and frustration. I felt that after I passed the NCLEX-RN myself, that I should post my own experience, hoping someone like myself would find it and find some comfort in it.

I just recently passed my NCLEX-RN after my fourth try. Yes, four. I was a great nursing student, graduated with honors, but just could not tackle the NCLEX monster. All four times I had to take the maximum number of questions and my last time my very last question was a SATA. I was certain I was screwed at that point. I left the testing center so upset and was certain I would have to sit in that dreaded Pearson Vue testing center once again, after fishing out another $200. Low and behold though, I looked online this morning and there was my license number. I didn't mess with any PV Trick or even attempt to use my computer before the 24 hours was up, it would have stressed me out not seeing it even if it were only because it hadn't downloaded yet.

Anyways, the point of sharing this story is because I hope someone out there, whether it is their first time taking it, or they are repeating it sees this and becomes a little more reassured in it. You CAN pass with 265 questions, it's not an automatic death sentence. Review your strengths, push even harder on your weaknesses and go into that test positive and with the mindset of, "this is MY time."

You picked nursing for a reason, you made it through school (the hardest part they say), don't let this test get the best of you. You CAN do it!
