Passed NCLEX 1st attempt- Canadian Nursing Graduate

Hello my dear nursing mates :)

Last night I got one of the best news of life that I had passed the NCLEX on my 1st attempt. I could not believe my eyes when I saw the email from Alberta Nursing Board in Canada. I had to re-read the email a few times to actually fathom the good news. I read so many helpful posts from allnurses before my NCLEX that I too want to share my experience and strategies with all of you on how I prepared for the NCLEX.

NCLEX was the most weirdest and hardest exam I had ever written in my life. We all know how hard nursing school exams are but NCLEX is even more nastier I watched lots of youtube videos and read many forums to get hints to better prepare for the NCLEX.

Here are all the resources and strategies I used to prepare for THE BEAST of Nursing Exams aka: NCLEX!

1) Saunders Comprehensive Review for NCLEX RN- I could not finish reviewing the whole book. This is an amazing review book. I wish I bought this book while in my accelerated nursing school.

2) Lippincott's Q & A Review for NCLEX-RN- This is a must have book for practicing lots of questions. The questions are hard but they are very close to actual NCLEX questions. I did 4 out of 6 of the comprehensive tests. I would highly recommend doing all the 6 tests.

3) NSBSN course- I took the 5 week access and did a lot of their practice questions. I didn't use much of their content review.

4) simplenursing.com- I found Mike Linares from simplenursing.com 3 weeks before the exam. Mike makes nursing concepts simple and fun. I signed up for 1 month access and only watched the videos in the last 3 weeks for review. I would highly recommend simplenursing if you are like me who gets bored reading textbooks easily and loves watching videos.

I hope these resources are helpful. I wish the very best to everyone who will be taking the NCLEX. Believe in yourself and give in your best. We made it through nursing school; we certainly can pass the NCLEX!
