Nurses who have passed the NCLEX-Please help me!

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hello RN's!

I wanted to get some insight from the nurses who have passed the NCLEX. What did you study? How many hours did you study? What worked the best for you?

Thanks! :)

I took Hurst Review and only study for about 1.5 weeks. Passed with 75 questions. Good luck :)

I just purchased the LaCharity! This was the missing link to passing on my second try. I know my third attempt will be great god is able.

When I was studying for the nclex, I studied about 5 hours each day and that including reviewing materials and answering many nclex questions. I took the nclex 6 weeks after I graduated so I had most of the information in my brain. I think its important to take the nclex right after you graduate and its important to trust yourself. You went through nursing school, you can pass the nclex

One of the things that really helped me was making a running list of meds/assessments/interventions I wasn't very familiar with that I encountered during my practice quizzes. After I finished the quiz I would look up everything I could about these topics so that if I came across it again I would be prepared. I'm so happy I did because there were a few times during my NCLEX that I had questions about things I had looked up just a few weeks before!

I tested in early February, exactly two months to the day after my graduation date.

I took the Hurst review two days after graduation. I did five of the six Q-Review exams... That's it. Really. I didn't study anything else/do any other questions. I googled things that I didn't completely understand.

I had faith that my nursing school prepared me with the content. Hurst more so helped me to put it all together and learn how to apply the concrete nursing knowledge to dynamic situations/I love how it condensed so much information in an easy to remember way.

I passed with 75 questions in an hour and a half.

I took my nclex in 2011 & passed with 75 questions. I did the entire Saunders review book and studied 2-5 hrs a day for a month before. My advice is to give yourself a few weeks to study bug don't wait too long. I took the test very fast 28 mins lol (I always take tests fast drove my classmates nuts but it works for me!) and a lot of it was eliminating options and guessing. Saunders was the best review in my opinion.

28mins?:wideyed:

I'm doing Hursts now. I answered all the questions and reviewed all the rationales through Kaplan and failed. I think focusing on content is better then answering questions, as Kaplan did not prepare me for what I saw on my exam. Hursts has helped me put the material together. I made that mistake the first time. I've been taking test in school for three years so I didn't need to do all those Kaplan questions. I should have done Hursts in the beginning. Good luck :)

Def get the nclex4000 and la charity. Focuse on the rarionale rather than the question.
