- Feb 7 by jazzymama76I geuss i'm like many of you on here I took my nclex for the first time and failed. I had the ATI virtual reveiw (which sucks by the way) and I have been using sauders nclex rn comprehensive reveiw( which I like). My question is this has anyone used sauders and hurst together and did you feel that was helpful. As for kaplin i saw someone say it was 399.00, I cant afford that, so is there a certain kaplin book with cd I can get that would work just as well. I think I will cantinue to use my sauders for reveiw content but I also think I need something fresh
- Mar 22 by patty554I finish school in May, I am so torn on what to do for a review, my classmates are going with ATI for the price, my school uses ati and I don't like it now so I decided not to do it. I am torn between Kaplan and Hurst I attended both of there seminars and really liked Hurst I though Kaplan was kinda boring, I need something to keep my attention. I am scared and excited all at once, when I attended Kaplans seminar I felt so stupid with the practice exam, it made me feel like I did not know anything and I am doubting my skills
- Mar 22 by snlatinaI'm so nervous about taking the nclex! I have heard that Kaplan is 1 of the best. But it is too pricey. I finish in December which seems like a long way to go but time is going really quickly. Maybe you would let us know which book is better.
- May 31 by mspugfacei graduated 3 years ago. I got the Hurst online package because the sample lecture looked simple and entertaining, and it was. I made sure to fill up the handouts the first time but i also listened to each lecture multiple times. I also made sure to browse through all the 5th day material which proved to be helpfull too. As aunt marlene said, you have to know your core content without any doubt and hesitation. I felt like i got the refresher that i needed plus 6 exams 125 items each. The q review has lots of SATA which was good coz you can never really get enough practice with those. After i'm done with that i also answered questions from the only other reviewer i had which was a 3 year old Saunders (blue). I made sure to read all rationales and review the content area that you find most difficult. I even listed to the prioritization and management lecture on our long drive to the testing center after which i listened to the final thoughts video and i felt like i was pumped up for the exam. In short, it's good if you have other sources for questions to practice with but good knowledge of the core content really takes you a long way. I did Hurst with Saunders questions, took the exam last may 28, and passed. good luck!
